Same with re-centering, flipping front/back camera, zoom, horizontal & vertical pan via 4-way joystick – very smooth and exact.Software offers a lot of options – i.e moving zoom, spin 180, time-lapse tracking with up to 4 points, hyperlapse, clone, vertigo, panorama modes and others.IPhone allows for multiple frame rates including 24p – which is a nice optionFIRST USE (I’ve posted a video of my first use of the Q3)L and F mode Smart Object tracking was good – no issues with drifting. I am using the lower power outlet as the center in the video. I am not turning or centering the camera, the gimbal is doing it – it doesn’t jerk when movements are steady – I’m just walking/moving while looking at the object.Smart object works best when the subject is higher contrast – and movements are steady. All other footage was without Smart Object.In all cases, the camera stayed pointed as directed or followed mode as intended. The Q3 was excellent in keeping the lens on target – only wandering was when the image was momentarily confusing (sudden bright light for example)I really like the point-to-point timelapse and hyperlapse modes. Note: it wasn’t obvious in timelapse, but I realized the first number in the clip length is the time it will take to shoot, while the second number is the length of the clip you will end up with. Great for being more precise if you’re planning a specific effect or use – plus, you can set an alarm to notify you and walk away while it does it’s thing.I also found the unit can be carried by the tripod attachment for low shots (see video)- and by the arm that holds the camera/phone – handyCONSTripod/extender attachment seems a little thin and shakes a bit at first, but it’s stable once it settles – the outdoor time-lapse was done on a very windy day. You could use a proper tripod if an issue.8hour battery – haven’t tested real world use, but have a backup charge brick with, just in case.Some bloatware (IMO) in the app.Basic unit should have a simple pouch included.FINAL THOUGHTSThis is my 3rd gimbal, and has quickly become my fave go-to, run-and-gun device. To use any stabilizer requires practice and a bit of technique, but this unit is so compact and easy to configure – not to sound like a shill, but this is a pretty low-cost way to smooth out your video. The closest competitor is the DJI at $150 – it is virtually identical, save for magnet clip and longer battery life – IMO that doesn’t justify near double the cost – a battery pack is a much cheaper alternative backup if you do run low – and the clamp is easy on/off.Great shooting options – near pro – especially if you’re an iPhone user.There sooo many shooting options and pretty easy to access them quickly – plus it’s great to have the main tracking modes on the grip itself.I’m not a fan of all the built-in glamour/auto edit stuff in the app – it would be good to have a straightforward alternative pro app that focuses just on shooting and tagging (there’s always FILMiC).This is for the semi-pro or casual users who wants more control – gimbal – for the grip, size, and quick access to options. With the attached small light, I think that it would be an excellent choice for video blogging & remote teaching situations.Watch ReMarkable 2’s excellent youtube tutorial – makes setup a breeze.# # #

   Best Entry Level Gimbal for the Price with many added extras
   If you are looking at getting a true 3 axis smartphone gimbal at a great price look no further. Zhiyun keeps improving their line of gimbals this being in the Smooth Q line up. I would say this is an entry level based on materials being it is made of plastic but not on function. It has all the features and modes you would expect higher end gimbal like in their regular Smooth line.The Smooth Q3 is made of plastic which makes it light and portable for quick on the go shooting or vlogging. They have included a new light that can revolve 180 degrees with three different intensites to use with either front facing or the back cameras on your smart phones. I think this is a great addition if you are using the front facing camera to vlog as it is just enough light to enhance your face, its not a light for fully illuminating landscape shooting but will still give some light to your videos when using the rear camera. It folds up with the help of the sliding mechanism similar to the slide-x gimbal making it compact to carry when not shooting and extends quickly when you need to get started shooting.Similar controls on the grip of the gimbal with a joystick to movement of the gimbal pan, tilt, rotation left and right. It has a mode button to quickly transition from Pan follow, Lock mode, follow mode, POV, Vortex mode where the camera spins, and phone go mode where quick movement are helped with increase motor power. There is a record button on the front as well.On the back there is a power button, and a trigger button that has several features. Single tapping turns on follow mode where you can lock on a object and the phone will automatically keep in frame. Double tapping the trigger will recenter the gimbal, and triple tapping will change orientation. Pressing and holding will enable phone go mode. There is also an integrated zoom rocker on the side so you can control you all the functions of the phone from the gripstick which makes shooting that much more enjoyable. There are also gestures you can use to control the functions when shooting alone infront of the camera.The motors are strong enough to support the Moment lenses and the arms do not appear even with the use of the wide lens. Which was an improvement on previous models.If that is all that was included that would be all you needed to make buttery smooth videos with your smartphone but they include the Zi cami app when connected via blue tooth allow for even more modes of shooting like, timelapse, slowmotion, panorama, motionlapse. There a full editing suite where you can shoot and edit in real time. This is a real bonus as you don’t need an extra app like filmic pro or and editing app or software.The combo come with a tripod, carrying case and wrist stap and added editing suite. So you are getting a lot of kit and not just a gimbal. This is a great package giving you everything you need to get shooting at a great price.

   don’t waste your money
   Worked great for 2 months but afterwards went dead. Will not stay charged after being charged for 2 days 🙄. When you emailed customers service about it it took them 2 days to respond being that it was in China.. they still were no help and didn’t want to reimburse or send me a new one.

   Functional but invasive
   Functional and affordable, but invasive and not easy to learn.It works, but I wasn’t aware I had to give this Chinese tech company anything more than my Bluetooth access to use the gimbal; you need to fork over your email, location data, network access, etc to get many functions. And good luck learning how to use it when a lot of the instructions are in Chinese or flawed English.If you don’t mind any of that, it’s a great little gimbal

   Me gusto porque es fácil de transportar ya que viene en su estuche al principio es un poco difícil de usar pero conforme vas leyendo el manual y viendo videos tutoriales se te hace más fácil usarlo necesitas practicar con el estabilizador para poder usarlo como un profesional y no se te caiga el celular como ami la primera vez que lo quise usar sin antes a ver leído el manual
